Ever since Timothy Crane began playing the piano at age five, music has been the most enduring part of his life. His move in 2004 to center stage as a solo pianist and composer is the culmination of years of playing in bands, jamming with friends, and constantly practicing in any number of garages and basements.
Tim’s first CD, The Other Life I Dream, is a collection of piano instrumentals with an orchestral background. It debuted in November of 2004 on the New Age Reporter, an online publication reporting radio airplay for new age, world, and ambient music from hundreds of broadcast stations around the world. The CD peaked at #3 on that chart in May 2005, when it was played by nearly 200 stations and digital music providers in seven countries. By the end of 2005, the CD was nominated for several individual station awards, and Tim was nominated by the New Age Reporter for Best New Artist.
His style of music, “instrumental pop,” blends influences from new age, popular, rock , and even classical music into compositions that are both interesting and enjoyable.
Tim’s new CD, Dragonfly, expands on his rock and pop music influences with twelve new original recordings. Co-produced by Jason Rowsell, and with the help of Ryan Day and Rick Henley (Denver’s “Mother Brilliant” and “The Six Million Dollar Band”) Tim hopes Dragonfly will reach even more listeners with his refreshing compositions. |
